Appointment Of The President Of National Assembly Of Ivory Coast As Ambassador For Peace

Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire — November 7, 2019, UPF-Côte d'Ivoire and the Ivory Coast Chapter of the International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace (IAPP) jointly appointed H.E. Amadou Soumahoro, President of the National Assembly of Ivory Coast, as Peace Ambassador.
About 200 guests gathered for the ceremony, which was held inside the National Assembly palace enclosure. In addition to the peace ambassadors who are members of the institution, religious organizations, traditional bodies, public authorities, leaders of national and international organizations, representatives of the diplomatic community, ministers of sports at the national level, and representatives of all political Persuasion also participated in this activity.
According to the set program, the ceremony began with the entrance (and greeting) of the President of Parliament in the rotunda of the palace. The opening prayer of this solemn ceremony was delivered by Imam Drameh Musa of the Grand Bassam Grand Mosque and National President of the Association of Religious Leaders for Peace and Development.
Supported by the musical group Côté Soleil, the participants sang the national anthem in a choir. A series of speeches welcomed all the guests before he was opened by Mr. Jean-Yagui Likane, the President of the Côte d'Ivoire IAPP and explained why he was nominated as the President of the National Assembly. In particular, the Laureates are constantly working to ensure that all political currents represented in the parliamentary system work together in the Presidium of the National Assembly, despite their differences. was warmly welcomed by the entire audience. UPF-Côte d'Ivoire President Sayé Lazar Aka then announced the five universal principles of Ambassadors for Peace. Thanks to the attentiveness of our guests, the Presidency explained exactly what is expected of Peace Ambassadors.
Before the ceremony continued, the audience watched video clips showing the words and actions of recipients in different parts of the country.The participants unanimously praised this video content.
The ceremony was continued by Aka Saye Lazar, Tetiako Inago and Jean-Yagi Likane. They brought the official certificates and scarves of the Peace Ambassadors, the UPF's medals, the special medals awarded to Peace Ambassadors at the Dakar Summit, the institution's personal cards, and a copy of the autobiography of the UPF's founder, Reverend Sun Myung Moon. The solemnity of this moment caused all the guests to stand and applaud the recipient, the new UPF-Côte d'Ivoire Peace Ambassador.
At his address, H.E. Amadou Somahoro expressed his gratitude and thanked the organizers for choosing him. He is"... Consistent with the principles of peace," he said, pledging to do more to promote and strengthen peace and social cohesion for the benefit of all people.
The closing prayer was given by Pastor Zeze Noel, President of the Family Federation for Peace and Unity of Yopougon Diocese.
The group photo was the last step of the activity. On this occasion, guests surround Danho Paulin, Minister of Sport and Ambassador for Peace, and H.E. Amadou Somahoro, Speaker of the Ivory Coast National Assembly.
