Democratic Republic Of Congo Celebrates Day Of Peace

KINSHASA, DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO—UPF-DR Congo celebrated the United Nations International Day of Peace in the capital Kinshasa and the countryside town of Bukavu in eastern Congo. In Bukavu, UPF local leader Reverend Gilbert Boisa spoke to his 150 attendees about the UPF's principles of peace, good governance and character education. At that occasion, three new peace ambassadors were nominated. They included two army colonels and a lawyer.


A message of peace was delivered at an event in Kinshasa and people watched videos of UPF founder Dr. Hak Ja Han's activities in the United States. Seven New Ambassadors for Peace were appointed.


His Majesty the King Difima Ntinu, red the UN Secretary-General's statement on this year's International Day of Peace as a member of the Democratic Republic of the Congo Committee of the International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace. Keynote speech based on Rev Moon's message was given by Rev Jean-Pierre Kadima, Secretary General of the UPF-DR Congo.

His 200 attendees at the event included religious and civil society leaders, traditional rulers, parliamentarians and youth representatives. After the celebration, news about the event was broadcast during his two days by five radio and television channels (TELE 50, Direk TV, Radio Okapi, Top Congo, RTNC), including state-owned radio and television channels.
