Situated in West Africa, Guinea covers approximately 245,857 square kilometers and boasts a diverse population with French as the official language. The economic landscape of Guinea is characterized by abundant natural resources, particularly bauxite, making the mining sector a cornerstone of its economy. While bauxite exports have been central to Guinea's economic activity, efforts are underway to diversify and enhance other sectors such as agriculture, energy, and infrastructure. The government's commitment to economic transformation is evident in initiatives aimed at fostering a more inclusive and resilient economy. As one of West Africa's promising nations, Guinea is navigating its developmental path with a focus on diversification, showcasing its determination to chart a course toward a more sustainable and prosperous future.
Brief presentation of UPF :
Since its creation on March 31, 2006, UPF-GUINEA is made up of more than 45 Ambassadors for Peace, including eminent personalities who have since taken part in various Peace Summits in Africa (Senegal, Niger, South Africa and most recently in Maputo and South Korea). UPF-GUINEA has been authorized by the Guinean government to meet with the Prime Minister on September 15, 2023. Each time it is appointed, the Guinean government sends a government representative, in the hope of appointing the President of the Transition at the end of his term. Among the impactful projects and activities undertaken by UPF-GUINEA: Completed projects include nominations and conferences and an ongoing project is character education.
