How UPF Africa promotes peace in Liberia

Located on the west coast of Africa, Liberia spans approximately 111,369 square kilometers and is characterized by a diverse population. English is the official language, reflecting the nation's historical ties with the United States. Historically known for being founded by freed American slaves, Liberia's economy has been shaped by agriculture, particularly rubber production and mining. The country has faced challenges, including civil conflict, but is actively working towards economic recovery and stability. Liberia is striving to diversify its economy by promoting sectors such as agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, while also attracting foreign investment and fostering innovation. As the nation navigates its path of development, there is a commitment to addressing historical challenges, fostering inclusive growth, and preserving its unique cultural heritage.
Brief presentation of UPF :
Organized in Liberia in 2005 and officially launched in February 2006, UPF has a total membership of 225 individuals, with 109 Ambassadors for Peace commissioned, including 33 active members. Operating with a code of elected officials and a peace prize initiative, UPF has successfully launched IAPD, while plans for IAPP and IACP are in progress, emphasizing the need for cooperation with the government to implement the Humanitarian Assistance Program (HAP) based on a signed MOU.
