How UPF Africa promotes peace in Uganda

Situated in East Africa, Uganda covers approximately 241,038 square kilometers and is characterized by a diverse population with English as the official language. Historically recognized for its rich biodiversity, including the source of the Nile River and abundant wildlife, Uganda's economy has been anchored in agriculture, particularly coffee and tea production. The nation has made significant strides in overcoming past challenges, including political instability, and is actively promoting economic diversification. Uganda is focusing on sectors such as tourism, energy, and technology to drive growth. With a commitment to attracting foreign investment, fostering innovation, and addressing historical challenges, Uganda aims for sustained and inclusive development. As the country navigates its developmental trajectory, there is a concerted effort to balance economic advancement with the preservation of its natural beauty and cultural heritage.
Brief presentation of UPF :
Established on August 15, 2019, UPF Uganda, chaired by Hon Lokeris and led by an eleven-member team covering various areas of social concern, including academia, media, and culture, has been actively involved in impactful projects and activities. These include environmental initiatives within families, fostering peace and harmony to enhance joint economic activities in society, and uniting the youth for peace-related activities such as general cleaning, music, dance, and drama.
