Maputo, MozambiqueOn August 3, 2024, the Peace Road event in Mozambique took place at the Hyo Jeong Peace Center in Maputo. This significant event aimed to promote the ideology of peace and the global achievements of the True Parents, who have realized the vision of 'One Family Under God', transcending racial and national boundaries. Gathering 81 people, the event sought to unite hearts and minds around the world, mobilizing them as the driving force behind the success of Vision 2025.

The event was organized with the participation of the Unification Church and FAITEV (Faculdade Internacional de Teologia Evangelica). Among those present were pastors, prophets, and theologians, as well as the President of the Religious Affairs Committee of Marracuene District, members of the Religious Affairs Committee of Catembe N’ Sime (Matutuine District), and representatives from the Machanfane Neighborhood.

The day was divided into two key segments: the Peace Conference and the Graduation Ceremony of Theologians.

  1. Conference: “Peace Begins with Me”

The main theme of the conference was “Peace Begins with Me”. The goal of the meeting was to raise awareness about the importance of individual and family peace as the foundation for peace within communities, nations, and the world.

Reverend Paluku Mulekya, National Leader of Mozambique, opened the event with welcoming remarks. The speakers included Feliciano Posso, General Secretary of UPF, who was also honored as a Doctor of Theology on the day, Prophet Wiseman Inroga, and Apostle Daniel Esteche, Director of FAITEV. Their messages focused on how individuals can contribute to building a peaceful society through personal responsibility and family harmony.

Key topics discussed during the conference included the peace-building efforts of Reverend Sun Myung Moon, the essential role of Korean unification in securing world peace, and the importance of ending global conflicts. Mozambique's own path toward peace was also highlighted.

Prophet Wiseman Inroga emphasized the providential significance of Korean reunification as a key step toward achieving lasting global peace.

  1. Graduation Ceremony for Theologians

The second major part of the event was the Graduation Ceremony for Theologians. This ceremony celebrated a group of students who had successfully completed their theological studies, marking an important moment in their spiritual and academic journey. The graduates were recognized for their dedication to religious education, which is vital for promoting peace and social cohesion.

Religious leaders and academics spoke during the ceremony, focusing on the role of theologians in guiding communities spiritually and morally. Graduates were encouraged to use their newfound knowledge to foster peace, mediate conflicts, and serve as examples of unity and understanding within their communities.

Conclusion:

Peace Road 2024 in Mozambique was a successful event that combined the promotion of peace with the celebration of theological achievement. It brought together religious leaders, community representatives, and scholars to reflect on the importance of unity, personal responsibility, and global peace efforts. Through both the conference and the graduation ceremony, the event inspired attendees to contribute to a more peaceful society in Mozambique and beyond.
