Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso — On June 1, 2025, UPF Burkina Faso hosted a special event in Ouagadougou to mark the belated celebration of World Football Day, demonstrating how sport can be a powerful force for peace and youth development.

The highlight of the day was the official launch of the UPF Football Club (UPF FC), a major milestone in the Federation’s ongoing efforts to engage young people through meaningful activities that promote leadership, teamwork, and a culture of peace.

During the ceremony, the UPF Burkina Faso team shared the Federation’s official statement on World Football Day with Ambassadors for Peace and members of the Heavenly Parent’s Holy Community, underlining football’s unique ability to bring people together across differences and inspire cooperation.

Beyond the celebration itself, the vision for UPF FC is ambitious and forward-looking: to lay the foundation for a future football academy that will nurture talent, build character, and help develop the next generation of peace leaders.

The day concluded in good spirits with a friendly warm-up session held at the Pissy multisport field, where participants enjoyed the simple joy of playing together and embodying the values of unity, respect, and friendship that football so naturally encourages.

With this launch, UPF Burkina Faso reaffirmed its commitment to using creative, practical approaches—like sport—to build a more peaceful and harmonious society, one young leader at a time.
