Gabon ― On October 5, 2024, the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) and the Foundation of the League of Ecclesiastical Leaders for Peace in the World (LILEP) organized a conference at the Ministry of Spirit and Truth (M.E.V) in Gabon. The event focused on the Universal Principles of Peace, highlighted the role of religious leaders during Gabon’s transitional period, and attracted over 100 participants, including prominent religious and community figures.
Key speakers included Archbishop OKARA Antoine, Founder of LILEP; Bishop Louembet Louembet Achille and General Secretary Nestor Mba Evoung.
The program began with an opening prayer by Prophet Ondo Nkogho Jean Christophe and included a presentation on UPF’s origins and objectives by Secretary General M. Iwangou. The event concluded with the appointment of Archbishop OKARA as the first Peace Ambassador for Gabon. In his acceptance speech, he emphasized the church's responsibility to address global challenges like war and moral decline.
This step marks significant progress in the establishment of the Interreligious Association for Peace and Development (AIPD) in Gabon.
