Peace Road 2018 In Kenya

Nairobi, Kenya – Peace Road 2018, sponsored by UPF-Kenya and hosted by South Nairobi Sikh Temple, attracted 1,000 participants. The July 29 event was attended by Nairobi Governor Gideon Mbuvi Sonko. General Jeremiah Lianga, former head of the Kenyan Defense Forces; Mr. Gurdip Singh Flora, President of South Central Temple; Mrs Rattan Channa, board member of the United Religions Initiative. The Women's Federation for World Peace, the Family Federation for Peace and Unity, and Kenyan chapters of various youth initiatives were also well represented.


The 4km march was led by the Kenya Police Brass Band. Along the way, many participants sang Sikh hymns. Wlakers cleaned the streets as they walked, and some planted trees to beautify the roads. According to organizers, the event received good coverage locally (through the Daily Nation) and internationally.
