Seychelles ― From September 2-6, 2024, a Character Education Training Program was held in Seychelles, organized by the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) and funded by a national government grant. Upon arrival on September 2, the UPF delegation—led by Mr. Roger Alphones (Chair), Mrs. Rosemary Elizabeth (Secretary General), and Mrs. Suganda Betioux (Secretary/National Leader)—received a warm welcome at the airport.
The program officially began on September 4 at CEPs Hall in Victoria, attended by 15 schoolteachers from three secondary schools: Anse Boileau, Anse Royale, and Point Larue. Media representatives covered the opening session, which featured key presentations on Pure Love Education, Building Successful Families, and Becoming an 'A' Personality/Character.
On September 5, the session continued at Dawn Self-Catering B&B House in the South. Mr. Alvine, CEO of CEPs, delivered an address on youth behavior, mind-body alignment, and spiritual well-being. This was followed by video presentations and interactive group activities.
The final day on September 6 included presentations on Youth and Family, group work, and participant recommendations for applying their training. A video on The Fall of Man by Dr. Tyler Hendricks was shown, connecting back to the Pure Love Education theme. The program concluded with plans for ongoing follow-up until December when participants will receive certificates.
Throughout the training, the teachers were highly engaged, interactive, and committed to implementing the lessons in their classrooms, creating a promising foundation for future character education in Seychelles.
