Nigeria - Abuja The Universal Peace Federation (UPF), in collaboration with the Nigerian government and the International Association of Youth and Students for Peace (IAYSP), undertook an impactful eight-day Peace and Character Education Program from August 22 to August 31, 2023, at the Peace Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria. This initiative aimed to train twenty teachers representing various schools selected by the Federal Government's Universal Basic Education Board. The primary objective was to equip educators with the necessary tools and knowledge to instill strong moral values in students and ultimately integrate Peace Character Education into Nigeria's education curriculum.

The program commenced with an inaugural ceremony held at the Women Development Center in Abuja, followed by seven days of intensive training at the Peace Embassy. Accommodations and daily transportation for participants were thoughtfully arranged, ensuring a conducive learning environment. With 34 active participants, including the designated teachers, UPF staff, and resource persons from various institutions, the program delved into an extensive schedule that encompassed educational sessions, tea breaks, and catered meals, concluding daily at 7:30 PM.

The event garnered considerable media attention from reputable outlets such as Radio Nigeria, Capital FM, News Agency of Nigeria, Arise News TV, Nigeria Television Authority, and Television Continental. A proficient team of resource persons, including Rev. George Ogurie and Dr. Bilkisu A. Adedoyin, facilitated the program. Extensive use of UPF reference materials, curriculum development discussions, and activities promoting collaborative problem-solving enriched the training experience.

To mark the successful conclusion of the program, participants received Certificates of Participation and a memoir of the co-founder, Dr. Mrs. Hak Ja Han Moon - The Mother of Peace. Notably, three resource persons were acknowledged and presented with letters of Nomination for the Ambassador for Peace award by the UPF Secretary General, Dr. George Ikpot. The closing moments featured a group photograph and heartfelt expressions of gratitude towards Mrs. Juliet and her dedicated team for their exceptional care and support throughout the eight-day program.

This comprehensive report reflects the commitment of UPF Nigeria, the Nigerian government, and their partners to address critical challenges in Nigerian society by fostering moral values and ethical education among the youth, thereby contributing to the nation's development and future prosperity.
